Odell Thurman Reinstated

This just in, the Bengals got their first draft pick of the 2008 season 6 days early. The NFL reinstated suspended LB Odell Thurman from his two year absence. With the way Odell played in his rookie year, getting him back after two years is like getting a defensive first round LB this year. As long as he can play back to his rookie year performance, our LB corps, and run defense just got better. It’s about time some good news has come up in the past week or two for Cincinnati. Odom, Utecht, Blackstock, Thurman should all have immediate impact (Blackstock will add great LB depth and special teams immediate help).

I can’t tell you how psyched I am to have Odell back. Granted it may take a while for him to round into ’05 form but he brings a swagger that the Bengals defense hasn’t had since, well, never. If my confidence in the Bengals’ defense was 2- on the scale of ten yesterday, it’s probably about 6 right now, and, should we manage to snag Sedrick Ellis, I’d go 8 before we ever got to Georgetown. Oh, happy day…

First Enormous Kudos to a guy who lead my Bengals in Tackles with 148 and, among other things was tied for interceptions with 5 for rookies.  Odell, you are the man!Ignatius has me salivating with "snag Sedrick Ellis" hopes at number 9, but I have to tell you that there are clubs that would LOVE to have him who are picking before Cincy…..but there will be an Excellent player there, regardless. ……..now the Board will MOVE …welcome back Dave!

I am pumped, as well, I think Odell is a BEAST in the LB core and I think only good things could come of this.  I pray that Odell has kicked his addiction and got his life straightened out!  It is so good to see him work so hard to get back in the league and now I bet he is dying to hit somebody!  And that is a very very good thing for our Bengals!!!

After looking in from the outside , I think he’ll work even harder to regain that FIRE he had as a rookie.    Mr. Thurman just remember to "KEEP FOCUSED" on your goals and help the Bengals get to the Superbowl!!   Welcome back Sir.

Where do you guys think Odell will play?  Will Brooks beat him out at middle and he will play outside or vice versa?  I liked Brooks talent but man Odell was a beast in the middle.  It is finely nice to see that Marvin will have options!!  What about Pollack?  Do you think we will ever see him again?

No more Pollack. As of today, he is retired from the NFL.
