Ahmad Brooks in trouble..
Given the story in the Cincinnati Enquirer seems like we’ll be down to 8 linebackers and 1 draftee. I thought a clear message was sent with Chris Henry’s quick release. Although this story has some ring to it as someone who is being vindictive and trying to get something for nothing, just having put yourself in that position is stupid.

I tell you what though. Brooks was another one of those questionable Bengal picks. He had a past. When will they ever learn!!!!!

May 2nd, 2008 at 2:58 pmI think you should put a big red circle with a slash through it over Chad’s face in the banner. You know, like how a teenaged weirdo does to his yearbook?
May 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pmWhat do you think the NFL will do to Brooks? I think Bengals will be in second chance mode with Brooks. Think so?
May 6th, 2008 at 5:18 amI’m still hoping that it amounts to nothing, that the charges against Brooks turn out to be false. Since the story first broke, there’s been exactly zero coverage, zero happening presumably, and only the specter of a June 6th court appearance to remember it by. One of those “no news is good news” type situations, maybe?
May 6th, 2008 at 5:48 amGiven the nature of the offense, should it be true, the Bengals would probably be forced to cut Brooks even though compared to, say, Henry, he may deserve second chance. Plus, this is Cincinnati- not Pittsburgh where a domestic violence beef gets you only an anger management course- with all that entails reputation-wise and Mikey & Marvin have already crowed about zero tolerance.
Of course, Dallas will promptly sign him to their padded halfway house.
