40-1
Odds for the Bengals to win the next Super Bowl.
Odds for the rest of the AFCN:
Pittsburgh Steelers: 12-1
Cleveland Browns: 15-1
Baltimore Ravens: 30-1
OK, I get the Bengals trailing Pittsburgh and Cleveland…but Baltimore? What’s up with that?
UPDATE: Handicapper David Chan pegs the over/under on total season wins for Cincy at 7 and likes the over.
With Chad Johnson’s departure inevitable, the Bengals aren’t going to get much love from bettors or oddsmakers. The books are pegging them for a 7-9 season, which happens to be identical to last year’s record. That’s fine with me, as I feel Johnson’s eventual trade, along with a solid draft will have the Bengals contending in the AFC North.

40-1 to win the Super Bowl, huh? Actually I see Cincy in 2nd or higher for the Division ….. if we have a health Rudi and Chris Perry. There will be much pressure on the young WR’s if CJ decides to go on with his “reality show” that he told Solomon Wilcots in an interview/conversation before the draft….per Wilcots on Sirius NFL Radio. I am not really worried about Housh, since working out in CA in the offseason is what he does. I don’t think MB will cough up the money to sign him, but I think they should at least try to sign him for 4 years if they can………..
May 17th, 2008 at 3:36 pmI think they have a shot at the playoffs, but a lot has to go right for that to happen — Rudi really being back, Perry, Willie and Levi all staying healthy, at least one of the new WRs being unexpectedly good, Sims and maybe even Shirley contributing early, etc. And given how snakebit this team has been the last couple years, that’s hard to see.
