Take a Chance on Him?
ESPN informs us that the Bengals have been assigned Swedish linebacker Carl-Johan Bjork as their international practice squad player for 2008. A three year veteran of NFL Europa, Bjork spent the last two seasons on the Dallas and Green Bay practice squads. Welcome, Bjork!

Please explain to me how an ABBA music video in any way represents this player?? Other than the obvious fact that both he and this music group are Swedish…
July 11th, 2008 at 10:22 amDo you have any actual information the skills of this player? Have you seen him perform?
Björk may be the new best linebacker the Bengals have… just wait and see. He’s going to kick ass this year…
That reminds me, I still need to write a check to the George Carlin Memorial Fund for People Born Without a Sense of Humor.

July 11th, 2008 at 1:10 pmNo seriously. I’m not trying to be rude… Björk is a good player. Which is very rare to find in Europe. Take into consideration that he did not go to college, and therefore does not have the benefit of a draft choice. He’s had to push himself forward from a tiny rural team who didn’t have matching jerseys, then into the Swedish national team, then NF Europe, and finally he earned his place with a practice squad??? The guy worked hard…
July 12th, 2008 at 2:11 pmTrust me, I’ve followd his career.
All jokes aside… he’s a good player, with a great personal character. The guy is talented, plus motivated beyond all belief. I really think he’s going to be a great addition to the team, and I’m really hoping they’ll see his hard work. Both Dallas and the Cowboys didn’t.
I’m just trying to suggest that you do what you’re post says… before you know anything about what his performance will be like, give the guy a chance.
I’m a Wisconsin native… I met Björk while I was doing a study abroad in Europe while he was playing for Amsterdam. We never really talked much but when I heard he would play for the Packers I was really happy. See, my little brother has lukemia, and he loves Brett. Björk talked to Brett and got my brother a chance to just chill with him…
Speaking from my heart… he’s a great guy.
Well, nowhere did I suggest we shouldn’t give him a chance. At this point, tho, he isn’t even on the roster.

July 15th, 2008 at 7:44 amI think they don’t have him on the roster because he doesn’t technically count against the teams overall total players. Hopefully after showing some skill at the upcoming camps we’ll all see more than just his name on the roster…
July 15th, 2008 at 12:19 pmThey signed him to the PS today.
