Bengals/Jets Open Thread
As feared, Bengals’ Pro Bowl kicker Shayne Graham won’t go today in the Meadowlands. Also out is much-maligned DT John Thornton In his place, FA pickup Orien Harris gets his first NFL start.
Active for the first time this week is 2008 third-round pick DT Pat Sims.
Carson Palmer will sit as expected. Brother Jordan will get the call if anything happens to Ryan Fitzpatrick.

NDUKWE!!! Fumble return for a TD. I suppose the D finally figured out that if it was going to win, it would have to score, too. Hat tip to Odom for the sack & FF.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:11 amHello…special teams…anyone home…?
October 12th, 2008 at 10:12 amDoes anyone on either team know how to play football? Sheesh…
October 12th, 2008 at 10:21 amThanks, Ghiacuic.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:32 amEric is bad. there has to be a better option.
Gotta draft a center.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:39 amUgly Q1. Jets doing all they can to hand the Bengals a W and the Bengals just won’t take it. Killer penalties on Hall and The Pushover.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:41 amYup, Guy-check has got to go. I apologize to our readers for disputing their vote that he was the worst guy on the o-line.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:42 amSideshow Bob strikes again: run-run-pass-punt. Pathetic.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:46 am10-7 Jets. Bengals D is still hanging in there. Not sure why, they’re just prolonging the agony.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:51 amHere comes the O again. Cue up the circus music.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:54 amGood man, Fitz, just give that ball right back to New York. It isn’t like you were going to do anything with it anyhow…
October 12th, 2008 at 10:57 am17-7 Jets. What a joke our offense is. 19 yards in a quarter and a half.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:59 am…and, another punt. But we are up to a whole 28 yards of offense! Woo-hoo!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:06 amDefense continues to play its heart out.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:09 amHoly Crap! A FIRST DOWN!!!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:11 amGood call going for it on 4th-and-2. It isn’t like they have anything to lose at this point. 2 minute warning.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:14 amWow. a 66-yard TD drive. Where did that come from? 17-14 Jets.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:26 amthey should never punt for the rest of the year.
always go for it.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:32 amFirst half thoughts: Fitz recovered there at the end. He actually has slightly better numbers than Favre right now. Chad & TJ woke up too. Still can’t run the ball. Playcalling stinks. O-line stinks. Dumb penalties hurt us. D is keeping us in the game but the offense has to keep doing what it did on that last drive.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:36 amDAMNIT BRAT! QUIT RUNNING PERRY OVER THE LEFT SIDE IT. IS. NOT. WORKING!!!!!!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:46 amOur offensive line is offensive.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:48 amPick by White gives the Bengals the ball on their own 3. Need to get some room to punt.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:53 amWell, they do, but a lame Larson punt and bad teams work puts the Jets right back on the doorstep.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 amFrostee makes a play. D continues to drag out the inevitable. 20-14 Jets.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:00 pmAnd the offense continues to suck. And WTF Larson? a 36 yard punt?
October 12th, 2008 at 12:09 pmAbout time for the D to finally run out of gas…
October 12th, 2008 at 12:11 pmEnd of 3. Jets driving, exhausted Bengals’ D flagging.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:15 pmAnother pick, this time by Corey Lynch. Bengals are buried again tho, on their own 8.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:23 pmBack to you, New York.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:31 pmDefense crumbling now. They held on longer than I thought they would, though.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:37 pmGame.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:41 pmgame. set. match. career.
If I was Palmer, I’d get the F out of this town.
Palmer to Minny for Chester Talyor and EJ Henderson.
