Bengals/Eagles Open Thread

Anyhow…another Sunday, another opportunity for the Cincinnati Bengals to find new and interesting ways to make their shrinking fan base cringe. Kingwilly’s weekly game preview is below. In pregame news, DE Antwan Odom is out as expected. NDD (non-dairy dessert) Frostee Rucker will get the start in his place. Injury-prone DE/LB Eric Henderson is also a scratch, as are the usual cast of rookies: Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell and Jason Shirley.
My prediction for today? Bengals tease their fans by staying close in the first half, but fall apart in the third quarter and end up getting blown out.
couple of relevant stats I also noticed:
1. The Bengals have dropped four straight games after the bye and are just 4-15 all-time following the week off.
2. Cincinnati allowed 16 fourth-quarter points to the Jaguars in Week 9 and has now given up 98 points total in the fourth this season — most in the league.
I think you prediction is correct…keep it close early then fall apart late. Groundhog day on the river.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:45 amI think it is ridiculous that we are not seeing Jerome Simpson. What does it say about this coaching staff that they cannot get him “coached” up enough to be in for a handful of plays to get him going? I already know the answer.
Nice first play…then pfffft. Again, why punt there? You’re 1-8, what do you have to lose?
