Doc: Bengals Fans Are Morons
Are you a Bengals fan? If so, Cincinnati Enquirer sports columnist Paul “Doc” Daugherty thinks you’re a moron.
Hey, right back at ya, Doc.
His Monday column oozes contempt for Bengals fans who continue to purchase season tickets. Two season ticket holders, Debbie Kincaid and Jenny Coloado, speak with Daugherty and for their troubles are mocked as enablers of owner Mike Brown.
This comes on the heels of a January 23rd column suggesting Bengals fans are mentally ill.
I suppose that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and in truth Daugherty doesn’t say anything that hasn’t been said for years on the mikebrownsucks.com message boards or, more recently, at WDR. But be that as it may, I have to wonder if any of the Enquirer’s editors ever look at Doc’s columns before they go to press. With revenues of parent Gannett Co. plunging and the Enquirer shedding jobs last December, letting a writer take multiple public dumps on a big chunk of your readership doesn’t strike me as a smart business decision.
But what do I know? I’m just some idiot Bengals fan with a blog, right, Paul?
