Morning Free Agency Update

By all accounts, eight hours after free agency began, the Cincinnati Bengals remain in the T.J. Houshmandzadeh derby (scroll down for last night’s coverage of free agency’s opening hours). In a text message to a Philadelphia radio station this morning, Houshmandzadeh wrote, “I don’t know what’s gonna happen, if they want me I will be an Eagle tomorrow.”

What’s the holdup? According to Muckraker Mike’s sources, T.J. isn’t seeing the coin he expected to see. Teams are interested, but apparently not putting Larry Fitzgerald money on the table.

Cincinnati is also said to be bidding on the top running back available, Derrick Ward, however, Florio adds that their primary target is still Cedric Benson.

Fans looking for a center in free agency have so far been disappointed, as the Colts’ Jeff Saturday re-signed with Indianapolis just prior to the start of free agency, while Baltimore’s Jason Brown headed off to St. Louis for a visit with the very interested Rams.
