After retaining Chris Crocker and Cedric Benson, and signing Laveranues Coles, the normally dormant-in-free-agency Cincinnati Bengals might be expected to shut it down. Not so, says Geoff Hobson, as the team continues its search for a starting fullback and backup quarterback.
Former 49er QB J.T. O’Sullivan appears to be the leading contender for the No. 2 QB spot, while one-time Bengal (turned Viking) restricted free agent FB Naufahu Tahi could be the recipient of an offer sheet from Cincinnati.
Ignore the talk about Michael Crabtree in the draft. Nice try, Geoff, but unless they move Chad Johnson (and yes, that could be a draft-day trade), it ain’t gonna happen.
UPDATE: Another one two minutes after I write a post. Oh, well. Per NFL.com’s Adam Schefter, J.T. O’Sullivan is expected to sign tomorrow as the Bengals’ No. 2 QB.
