On the heels of Jason Cole’s report earlier today that Browns WR Braylon Edwards will be in Giant blue soon comes more from PFW’s Nolan Nawrocki, who writes tonight that more blockbusters [trades] are in the works and will be hatched in the next 10 days, quite possibly culminating on Draft Day.
The name this time around? Disgruntled Panthers DE Julius Peppers. Of interest to Bengals fans is Nawrocki’s contention that the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in Peppers, since many Cincy fans are hoping that Philly will cough up a first for Chad Ochocinco 10 days hence.
Also of note is that Kansas City and Cleveland are also mentioned as possible destinations for Peppers, though in purely speculative terms. Both pick ahead of the Bengals, and both are seen as prime candidates for top defenders like Aaron Curry and Brian Orakpo. Were Peppers to go to either the Chiefs or Browns, the chances of a top defensive prospect dropping to six rise.
