I'm not happy about how they handled Levi, but whether it's a mistake or not depends on whether he's healthy. And as he hasn't been 100% since 2006, I'll reserve judgement until the fall. As to the o-line and depth, I actually like this year better than last year, but injuries could change that quickly.

After much excitement, the Bengals return to their usual form by releasing Levi even before pre-season. Sigh. Three words: "ChrisPerry", "KenIrons", and "KijanaCarter". Can't remember Perry's first season, but the other two didn't take a snap. Even if Smith is the real deal, who's to say he (or whoever the other tackle is) will remain healthy all year. Some depth sure would be nice. The Bengals feel obligated to cut players who have just lost their starter's slot.

Of the dark clouds you listed, Brat worries me the most. He just seems to have a one track mind. And it's a track that defensive coordinators in the AFC North have pretty well mapped out.

Also, I agree with the poster above, RSS widgets and aggregated widgets can really aggregate your content. Gooooooo widgets!

[...] To help them distribute that content more widely, we customized our RSS widget to fit each of their blogs. We also created some aggregated widgets to aggregate content by sport and league. Below you can see the widget live and in the flesh, but I also included a screenshot of how it looks in the wild on the Strype Hype blog for the Cincinnati Bengals.
