That’s former Postie Todd Archer, commenting on the selection of the Cincinnati Bengals for HBO’s Hard Knocks. Now with The Dallas Morning News, Archer says to expect Tank Johnson and Roy Williams to make their presence felt.
Johnson became one of the show’s stars last year when the cameras followed the Cowboys because of his salty language, ability to say what he wanted and camera loving. This off-season Johnson signed with the Bengals, so I will venture to guess he will get plenty of camera time this summer. It might be a battle for face time between Johnson and Chad Ochocinco. And maybe Roy Williams will have the chance to reprise his role as team jokester, too.
I covered the Bengals in a different lifetime and it will be interesting to hear the internal meetings involving the coaches and the Brown family. Team president Mike Brown is a terrific man, witty and tells some great stories. Hopefully he doesn’t hold back.
Terrific? Witty!?! Mike Brown??? Oh, heads must be spinning over at WDR! Just imagine if not only Chad Ochocinco but also Brown comes out of this with a burnished rep. The horror! The horror!
