Barton is in the midst of a 56-night hotel stay in Detroit for offseason workouts. Good thing the Lions are picking up the tab. You may think of Detroit as an organization that cuts corners because of the team’s lack of on-field success. Not so, Barton said.
“If I had to pay for this and continue to pay rent in Cincinnati, I’d be breaking even,” he said. “Honest to goodness, the ownership is great here. Our training table is great. Of all the places in the NFL I’ve been, this is head and shoulders above everyone, and miles in front of Cincinnati. I never ate Cincinnati’s food.”
Well, Kirk, let’s be honest: you never did much of anything in Cincinnati, did you? They signed you last December 1st, and you were placed on injured reserve four days later!
So, basically, your complaint is that you didn’t get gourmet meals while you were sitting on your ass contributing absolutely nothing? Balls.
Have fun in Detroit, Kirk. And be careful not to eat your way off the team. Though considering the Lions, that’s not necessarily a bad idea.
