Bengals – Packers Open Thread
Closing in on game time. Per the team’s official Twitter feed, Cincinnati’s inactives today are WR Jerome Simpson, DE Frostee Rucker, TE Chase Coffman, S Tom Nelson, CB David Jones and, of course, OT Andre Smith.
I was reading somewhere earlier this week about how terrible Moobs’ contract was, that it was a horrible deal for him given the slot. Yeah, $21 million guaranteed to sit on the sidelines. I dunno about anyone else but I’ll take that in a heartbeat. But hey, Mikey “won,” right?
For those looking for some hope today, there’s the defense. In the last four games, the Bengals have allowed an average of just 8 points. Of course, that was against some pretty poor offenses, so we finally get a real test of how good the D is. I believe the Bengals will score more than 7 today, so if the D really is for real, they have a shot.

Bengals 7-0. Cedric Benson en fuego!
September 20th, 2009 at 5:17 pmD folds. 7-7.
September 20th, 2009 at 5:28 pmAnd Palmer chokes. 14-7 pack.

September 20th, 2009 at 5:56 pmPack’s turn to blow holes in their feet. Bengals take over at their 41…
September 20th, 2009 at 6:10 pm…and Palmer promptly throws a pick 6…ugh. Carson is just teh suck so far this season.
September 20th, 2009 at 6:12 pm2 min warning, Bengals with a 1st and goal on the 7, down a TD. This drive has been the most ludicrous of the game so far, with Cincy converting a 3-and-34 on a fumble, then a big bomb to Chad, followed by a second momentum-killing hold by the o-line. Stay tuned…
September 20th, 2009 at 6:27 pmAnd the Bengals remember they have Chris Henry! 21-21 with 1:24 left in the half. Plenty of time for the Bengals to give up a score…
September 20th, 2009 at 6:31 pmBengals have turned the ball over twice, to no TOs by the Pack, and racked up 85 penalty yards, versus 51 by GB. Yet here they are, tied on the road. Crazy, just crazy.
Both teams have spent the first half shooting themselves in the foot. Carson must play better if the Bengals are to have any chance in the second half. D needs to stay stout. Of the Pack’s 21 points, only 11 can be laid at the feet of the D, thanks to a pick six and another INT that set the Pack up at the 11, in chip-shot FG range (they got a TD).
Stop throwing away the game Palmer!!!!!
September 20th, 2009 at 6:44 pmRey M. causes the fumble…can Cincy cash in?
September 20th, 2009 at 7:18 pmYes! 28-21 Bengals. Most points scored by Cincy since week 17 2007…let’s see if they can hold…
September 20th, 2009 at 7:25 pmPenalties continue to kill today. 9:30 left, Bengals up by 7, GB with the ball on their 16.
September 20th, 2009 at 7:43 pmAntwan Odom (4 sacks and counting) is a golden god…
