It makes no sense.
None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
But somehow, some way, I think the Bengals will find a way to keep the game close Sunday. Maybe they’ll even win.
I can’t explain how. On paper, the Saints seem to have every edge. Their offense is dangerous. Cincinnati’s defense is banged up. And yet, in this season of insanity, I have a hunch that something crazy might happen Sunday.
Maybe the Bengals will finally get some big plays from their special teams. Maybe the cold weather (estimated at 32-degrees with a wind chill in the 20s) will cripple the Superdome Saints. Maybe Cedric Benson and the Bengals running game will control the clock.
Maybe I’m absolutely nuts (which is always a possibility). But for some reason, I just can’t shake the feeling that something bizarre will happen Sunday. I think the Bengals will keep the game close.
Maybe they’ll even win.
Call me crazy.
