Bengals Coaching Staff Still Working Out
Clipped from: www.bengals.com The Bengals coaching staff is keeping busy during the lockout. Not only in the offices but in the weight room and training facilities as well. Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis a long with assistant strength coach Jeff Friday came up with “Camp Friday”; a brilliant idea to help the coaching staff (which has some new faces in it) bond together while working out during this dead period of a lockout. The coaching staff all seems to be loving the idea. “It doesn’t sound hard, but trust me,” says Hayes, who played for a few seasons in the [...]
New Logo
Stripe Hype has been going over a total revamp since I’ve taken over. And the changes are still rolling. I just received the email about the logo change and personally, I love the change in the logos. (Never was too crazy about the old one, I had people tell me they saw “images” in the logo) Obviously you guys have already seen the new banner logo on here at the top of the page. But here are some of the other new logos that you may be seeing when Stripe Hypes posts new stories. (like on our facebook page) On [...]
Ochocinco Receives Cleats in the Mail
A week or so ago Bengals Receiver Chad Ochocinco was complaining about not having his cleats and gloves. In fact he was tweeting up a storm about the situation, tweeting the Commissioner if he go obtain his cleats. And even “plotting” a break in over twitter to steal his cleats back. Well today the Bengals receiver, received a package from the team today containing his cleats and matching gloves. The motivation why the team sent these back is unclear. Be it that it could be a legal issue to not allow players have access to their own possessions due to [...]
Bengals.com: Bengals’ 10 Most Underrated Stats
Clipped from: www.bengals.com The main man over Bengals.com Geoff Hobson is keeping the site busy during the lockout. He’s one of the few that regularly can find new things to talk about. And recently he brought up the “Bengals’ 10 most underrated stats”, it’s a great piece with tons of information. To give a small taste what Hobson is dealing here’s #10 10. WR CRIS COLLINSWORTH - 1,009 YARDS IN 1981 A worthy number for No. 1 draft pick A.J. Green to take a shot. All you hear about these days is how hard it is for a rookie wide receiver [...]
What Bengals Free Agency bust did ESPN feel deserves a top 3 nod? Sam Adams? Dexter Jackson? Possibly even Antwan Odom? ESPN Insider and Football Outsiders feel all those pale in comparison to the knee injury that set the tone to the Bengals 2010-11 NFL Season Wide Receiver, Antonio Bryant. The Bengals only made this list once (luckily), and it’s interesting that Bryant is a top ten Free Agent bust dating back to the 90′s. (The farthest back the list goes is 1995) The Bengals have had a lot of bad free agency pickups and draft busts in the Mike [...]
Joe Reedy: Notes from Bengals Players Workouts
Clipped from: cincinnati.com Enquirer Bengals, Beat reporter Joe Reedy was on hand for the Bengals workouts at Nippert Stadium. He’s made a list of notes that can give a lot of the fan base some optimism. One of the glaring examples in his notes is his mention of Andre Smith at the workouts. For those wanting an Andre Smith update, he is hoping to get out of the boot by the end of the week. The biggest development though is that he has slimmed down a lot. To see it all, give his list a look over at his Bengals [...]
Pryor Confirmed to Enter Supplemental Draft
It has been confirmed, Ohio State Quarterback will be going into the NFL Supplemental draft. This comes to no shock as many have been speculating this was the inevitable outcome with the current scandals. Many feel like this was the best option he had left in front of him. Be it go into the NFL as an unpolished QB (who hasn’t proved he can transition to an NFL QB) or wait till after his senior year where would be suspended for 5 games. Neither choice looked to be a sure thing, but if you’re going to enter, do it after [...]
Defense Having Quite a Turnout
Clipped from: www.bengals.com Having mentioned the player lead workouts a few times, many readers may be familiar with the situation. For those who may not be, Offensive captain Andrew Whitworth is leading the offensive workouts, and Defensive captain Domata Peko is leading the defensive workouts. Today, during the defensive workouts, a reported 21 Bengals showed up to the Ignition Sports Complex in Mason. (also known as the Bengals “Indoor facility”) 21 is a phenomenal turnout considering the fact in the 53 man roster only 25 are on defense. Hopefully on Wednesday the offense can have a similar turnout. Defense captain [...]
Huge S/O to the guys over at Cincy Jungle on this one. Clipped from: www.cincyjungle.com In the episode entitled “The Captain,” the BMS football team is holding a ceremony to induct a new team captain, Alex Maran (Darin Brooks), the former back-up quarterback who was just promoted to first-string. All of the former captains return to campus to partake in the “passing of the torch” tradition as disgraced captain Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson) bestows the privilege to Alex in a ceremony only fit for the captain of Blue Mountain State. The episode he makes an appearance on is set to [...]
More Information on Player Lead “MiniCamp”
Last week Stripe Hype made mention that Bengals captains Andrew Whitworth and Domata Peko were organizing team practices. For those who may be interested at trying to sneak a peak of the player practice, they will be held at the practice fields of the University of Cincinnati. The captains have been shedding a little more light on what exactly they plan on doing this week. “This is a two-week minicamp … designed to build chemistry, cohesiveness, review the defensive playbook and to work on our strength and conditioning as a unit,” -Domata Peko Offensive Tackle and team Union Rep, Andrew Whitworh has [...]
