Cedric Benson agrees to terms with Bengals; RB Ahmad Bradshaw visit canceled

AUTHOR: | IN: Roster Moves | COMMENTS: None Yet

Earlier this afternoon, the contract standoff with Runningback Cedric Benson finally ended when Benson agreed to terms with the Bengals on a one year deal. The deal was reportedly in the range of $3-$5 million, with $2 million in incentives. At the same time, reports have also surfaced that Runningback Ahmad Bradshaw will visit with the Bengals after contract negotiations with his own New York Giants have hit a wall. ESPN’s John Clayton tweeted this about Bradshaw: The Giants apparently aren’t close to re-signing RB Ahmad Bradshaw. He’s scheduling a trip to Cincy for a visit. So, now we’ve got a deal [...]

Clayton: Good Chance Donte Whitner Has Deal in Cincinnati

AUTHOR: | IN: Roster Moves | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

Clipped from: twitter.com (share this clip) ESPN’s John Clayton is saying that Safety, Donte Whitner to the Bengals has something to it. There is a good chance safety Donte Whitner gets a deal done with the Bengals. It would be a nice fit. If the Bengals were to sign Whitner it would be the 2nd buckeye in a week. Not bad for the home state fans, and this is another time where this writer would actually be excited for the Bengals signing a Buckeye.   Def Interceptions Fumbles Tackles Year Tm G GS Sk Int Yds TD Lng PD FF Fmb [...]

Zimmer: We’re Not Done Looking

AUTHOR: | IN: Bengals, Roster Moves | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bengals’ Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer had some interesting comments today at training camp about the current quagmire of a situation at LB. A few days ago, the linebacking starters appeared to be set with newly signed FA Thomas Howard, and incumbents Rey Maualuga and Keith Rivers. But, news broke a few days ago that Rivers had surgery on his wrist and may not be back until the middle of the season. Then, promising second-year Roddrick Muckelroy ruptured his ACL on the first day of training camp, ending the season for Muckelroy, who was sure to see quite a few snaps. [...]

Bengals Rookie QB Dalton Looking Good at Camp

AUTHOR: | IN: Player News | COMMENTS: None Yet

It looks like rookie signal caller Andy Dalton is picking up the new offense very well . During his 1st day of practice,  he was telling teammates where to line up and what routes to run.  (Not too common for a day 1 rookie) Dalton commented on this saying I was just trying to come in and take charge and show everybody I’ve got confidence and that I can be a good leader out there. I felt really good. With the new offense, everybody is learning and I feel like I’ve got a really good grasp, as much as the [...]

Bengals Reach Deal with CB Nate Clements

AUTHOR: | IN: Roster Moves | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bengals have seemingly filled the void left by Johnathan Joseph temporarily by picking up veteran Corner Nate Clements. The contract is currently undisclosed but it’s assumed it will be less then the $9.75 million a year that Joseph is receiving in Houston. Clements offers a much needed veteran presence to a very young defense. With the Bengals not re-signing LB Dhani Jones or SS Roy Williams, (yet) Clements can replace some on field leadership the two brought to the team. Clements has had a solid career throughout. He may only have 1 pro bowl under his belt, but that doesn’t [...]

Bengals Re-Sign Safety Gibril Wilson

AUTHOR: | IN: Bengals | COMMENTS: None Yet

After having his 2010 NFL Season cut [extremely] short, it looks as though the Bengals will be bringing back Safety Gibril Wilson. Wilson may be remembered by most of the fans last season as one of the defensive signings, but never reached the regular season because of pre-season injury. Wilson tore his right ACL in pre-season week 3, vs the Philadelphia Eagles. According to Joe Reedy of the Enquirer the contract is around league minimum at $810k for a 1 year deal in Cincinnati.

Bengals Sign OG Deuce Lutui

AUTHOR: | IN: Roster Moves | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former Arizona Cardinal Deuce Lutui has signed a 2 year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. The contract seems to be “front loaded” being $8.75 million dollars with $5 million going awarded in the first season. Some of you may remember me mentioning Lutui in my 3 Positions on Offense  the Bengals Should Address in Free Ageny article early this week. In the article I said Deuce was Another big boy in his prime. Remember the plan isn’t to sign potential, it’s to sign a protector now. And Lutui is one of the best Guards available in this Free Agency period. Signing [...]

Bengals’ Adam “Pacman” Jones Cleaning Out Ocho’s Locker

Bengals CB Adam Jones has been helping Ochocinco “clean out” his locker. Thought this video may bring a smirk or even a smile to a few faces during this depressing free agency.

Adam Jones: “I’ll be ready for the opener”; CB Morgan Trent waived?

AUTHOR: | IN: Roster Moves | COMMENTS: None Yet

If Pacman speaketh the truth about his return, that’s very good news for the Bengals. When Adam Jones was arrested on July 10, that was very bad news. Not only did Jones get in trouble with the law again – contributing to the Bengals “trifecta” of arrests in a week – but a video report revealed that Jones still had a neckbrace on. Later, we learned that Jones had a second surgery on his neck, and might miss a few weeks in the regular season. Now, Jones claims that he can’t practice for 2-3 weeks with his neck still healing.
