Hamilton County Wants Legal Consul on Stadium Deal

Local Chanel 12 News (WKRC Cincinnati) reports that Hamilton County is considering legal consul about the stadium updates. It appears that after the recent Wall Street Journal article about the stadium deal, many tax payers are furious.

The bill for upgrades may look steep from the tax payers position. It may even look unfair, but it’s still required by the deal to pay for the upgrades. In fact the the Hamilton County Commissioner, Greg Hartmann even admits to that fact.

It’s a clear requirement of the lease. So, it’s an example of the challenges the county taxpayers face under the lease. But it’s a clear obligation.

But the truth is still hard to swallow for most fans. One taxpayer feels the money could be best used in other places.

We have a crime lab that’s decades obsolete. And they perform far more useful work than replays of Bengals losses. We have an auditor’s office that needs more inspectors, a public defender’s office that’s so understaffed people have to stay in jail longer just to go to trial, exacerbating the jail space problem.

It’s unknown how this all will play out. But one thing is for sure, Hamilton County will definitely be dragging it’s heels when shelling out this next chunk of cash.
