Bengals reportedly preparing for training camp at Georgetown College

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports that “all the telltale signs of a move to training camp are in place at Paul Brown Stadium“.

Moving boxes on the coaches’ floor. Trucks perched on the loading dock. Travel bags poised in front of every locker. (Yes, Carson Palmer and Chad Ochocinco both get bags.)

Everything but players. And they are expected not long after the NFL owners meet Thursday in Atlanta to presumably ratify a new collective bargaining agreement that the players may approve Wednesday in their own meeting in Washington.

It appears that the Bengals are finally packing their things and preparing for training camp at Georgetown College, and not at Paul Brown Stadium, as some had feared.

Last week, hopeful that the lockout would end soon, Georgetown College extended the original July 15th need-to-know deadline to Friday of this week.

Fortunately, all signs are pointing to the lockout coming to a close. Players are meeting in Washington DC on Wednesday, and owners are meeting in Atlanta on Thursday. Ideally, if the current discussions in New York come to a close by tomorrow, the players will be able to make a vote on the terms on Wednesday.

In addition, the Bengals player representative and starting Left Tackle, Andrew Whitworth, has reportedly asked for players to “stay close to their e-mails tomorrow for any news“. Whitworth is traveling off to Washington DC today for the player meetings. Lets hope he comes back with some good news.
