I don’t have many editorial notes after the Bengals week 2 loss vs the New York Jets, but one I would like to mention is the general sense among fans; is Andy Dalton the next David Klingler?
Both were replacing an iconic franchise QB. And both QB’s were drafted from small schools that run the “gimmicky” NCAA offense of the era, Klingler the Run & Shoot, Dalton the Spread.
Dalton is still adjusting to the speed of the NFL, and no one should solely judge him on his preseason performance. But on the other hand, when do you finally admit that the preseason may reflect the outcome of the coming season.
