Last week, rumors floated that Carson Palmer and his agent had been seen at Paul Brown Stadium.
There are bound to be rumors about Palmer every day until he reports to the Bengals or files his retirement papers, but it sounds like he might not be ready to ride off into the sunset just yet.
ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio is reporting that the disgruntled signal caller has been working out with former NFL quarterback Ken O’Brien for the past three weeks. They could just be doing P90X and sharing quips about Boomer Esiason, or it’s possible Carson is getting himself ready to play.
Only one thing is certain regarding Palmer’s future: Bengals owner Mike Brown will get the final word. So far, Brown has been unwilling to budge on his refusal to trade Palmer to another club. Now that the team has clearly moved on with rookie Andy Dalton, it might benefit the team to try and trade him for a veteran who could start right away at another position.
