Running Does It For The Bengals

AUTHOR: | IN: Bengals | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Bengals are heading into Denver tomorrow 1-0. Offensively speaking, the main reason the team is able to be 1-0 right now is that the Bengals were able to move the chains by running the football. The Bengals won at the line of scrimmage with the big men up front and the running backs ran hard all game. Starter Cedric Benson racked up 121 of the 139 total rushing yards

Andy Dalton “full go in practice” today, looks to start this Sunday

AUTHOR: | IN: Player News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Andy Dalton was seen throwing in practice today, reports both Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson and the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Joe Reedy. Dalton’s right wrist was injured in the Browns game last Sunday, forcing Dalton to sit out for the second half. Dalton only handed off the ball with his left hand and didn’t throw any passes on Wednesday practice. Today, he started off throwing swing passes, then moved on to deeper passes shortly thereafter. It appeared to be a perfectly normal practice for the young QB, which is a sign that he may be on his way to starting this Sunday against [...]

Takeaways from Sunday’s Win Against the Cleveland Browns

AUTHOR: | IN: Stripe Columns | COMMENTS: None Yet

POSITIVES: No turnovers. It seems that the Bengals learned their lesson from the preseason, where their turnover margin was -7 across 4 games. Surprisingly, neither team turned the ball over until late in the 4th quarter on Sunday. The Bengals ended up +1 against the Browns due to one interception by defensive lineman Michael Johnson. The Bengals under Marvin Lewis are now 41-9-1 when they win the turnover battle. Few penalties. The Browns took a page out of the Bengals’ playbook on Sunday, getting flagged 11 times for 72 yards. Even with 3 rookies starting in an away game, the [...]

PFT: Jordan Palmer Cut From UFL

AUTHOR: | IN: Player News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Clipped from: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com After all speculating by Bengals fans and NFL media it turns that Jordan Palmer didn’t have what it takes to make even an UFL roster. Earlier in 2011 some even though Jordan would be the interim QB for the Bengals. Even after the team drafted Andy Dalton some went as far to say he would take a “Kitna” role to young Dalton. It looks like those who though Palmer would get his shot in the NFL were wrong. And on top of that Palmer the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL already removed him from their roster as well. [...]

Bengals Rally Late, Stiffle Browns 27-17

AUTHOR: | IN: Bengals | COMMENTS: None Yet

In the first game of the 2011 NFL season, this classic rivalry between the two Ohio rivals saw a thriller full of twits and turns. Andy Dalton got off to a hot start, hitting 10/15 passes in the first half including a TD to TE Jermaine Gresham to help Cincinnati build a 13-0 lead. But Browns QB Colt McCoy threw back-to-back TD’s on consecutive drives to give the Browns a 14-13 lead before the half. On the Bengals final possession before the half, Andy Dalton was hit on a pass attempt and slammed his wrist off the ground which knocked [...]
