Hensley: A.J. Green is NFL’s most valuable rookie
There’s no question that the success of WR AJ Green is absolutely critical to the success of the Bengals. The rookie is projected to have the best rookie season for a WR since Randy Moss, and a strong candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year, though he is overshadowed by the play of QB Andy Dalton and QB Cam Newton. ESPN’s AFC North Blogger Jamsion Hensley breaks down why Green is the NFL’s Most Valuable Rookie of the year in an article that makes me proud to own an AJ Green jersey and proud to be a Bengals fan: Clipped [...]
Rivers Won’t Play in 2011
The Bengals announced today that linebacker Keith Rivers will remain on the team’s Reserve/Non-Football Injury list, and may not be activated to the roster this season. Rivers underwent wrist surgery in July, and his season was in doubt by the time the 2011 NFL season started. After being drafted 9th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft, the talented LB out of USC has seen his season end prematurely twice now. He missed nine games in 2008 after breaking his jaw, and now will have missed the entire 2011 season. He’s never played a full season, and by not playing this [...]
Bengals-Browns Second Quarter Film Review
Continuing my comprehensive film review from yesterday, I’m taking a look at the second quarter this time. For some reason, the Bengals are god-awful in the second quarter- allowing 91 points and putting up 32. That’s horrendous. If we weren’t so incredible in the second halves of games, our record would be far worse. I guess that means the coaches are making the right adjustments at halftime, but at some point we need to stop digging ourselves into huge holes before halftime. In the second quarter of the Browns game, the Bengals scored zero points and allowed ten points. Pass [...]
Bengals-Browns 1st Quarter Film Review
This week I’m doing something different with my film review. I’m using the nifty NFL Game Rewind service to break down each play and see where mistakes were made and where success came from. I’m getting into excrutiating detail this time, which should satisfy the crazy Bengals fans. Each offensive drive has it’s own table. Negative plays are in red, and positive plays are in green. Enjoy! Cleveland Browns Drive #1 at 15:00 CLE CIN 1st and 10 at CLE 18 C.McCoy pass short middle to J.Cribbs to CLV 26 for 8 yards (R.Maualuga). The Bengals defensive line generates little [...]
Bengals Sweep Battle of Ohio
After getting injured and missing the last game due to injury, A.J. Green hauled in a 51-yard pass from QB Andy Dalton in the final minutes which set up a Mike Nugent‘s 26-yard field goal with only 38 seconds left that capped another 4th-quarter rally and the Cincinnati Bengals claimed a 23-20 victory over the in-state rival Cleveland Browns. The win improved the Bengals’ record to 7-4 and will ensure they stay entrenched in the sixth wildcard spot for another week. Andy Dalton had another great day passing, going 21/31 for 270 yards and one TD. Cedric Benson ran 21 times [...]

Second-Year Safety Taylor Mays Progressing Nicely
Taylor Mays, the huge, speedy second-year safety out of USC, is making progress towards receiving more playing time. Mays received defensive snaps for the first time of the year against the Ravens. He was only in for 4 total snaps, but his presence is also being felt more and more on special teams. Mays had a monster hit on special teams when he leveled the Ravens’ Kick Returner Tom Zbikowski early in the fourth quarter. Click here or on the picture below for the video: Mays has also received from nice praise from Head Coach Marvin Lewis: “You’re kind of [...]
A.J. Green to Practice, Test Knee Injury
After injuring his knee against Pittsburgh in week 10, the Bengals most prolific offensive weapon, A.J. Green, will finally return to practice today in hopes of playing against Cleveland on Sunday. Green hopes to have a good feel by the end of the day as to whether or not he’ll be able to play Sunday in a crucial game the Bengals need to win to prevent a 3-game losing streak going into Pittsburgh next week. He had this to say about how he feels about his injury: “We are just going to take it day by day and see how [...]
