Andy Dalton Named Offensive Rookie of the Month

The NFL announced that quarterback Andy Dalton is the Rookie of the Month for October. Dalton has led to Bengals to a 4-0 record during the month, including two fourth-quarter comebacks. He is the first Bengals rookie quarterback to acquire four straight wins, and it’s the first time that the Bengals have had a perfect October in 35 years. Bengals Wednesday Headlines: Brandon Tate Named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week; CB Morgan Trent Waived

Bengals Kickoff and Punt Return Specialist Brandon Tate was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, after his career game against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Tate totaled 186 return yards in the game, including a 45-yard kickoff return and a 56 yard punt return for an important touchdown late in the game. He now leads the league in total punt return yards (295) and is 7th in the league in kick return yards (452). Former Hard Knocks Star Getting a Look According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, former  Bengals safety Tom Nelson was one of two former Bengals to work out for Jacksonville this week. Nelson was one of the stars during Hard Knocks in 2009, as he fought as an undrafted free agent for a chance to live out his NFL dreams. He ended up making the squad, and appeared in 12 games and had 25 tackles with an interception. Injuries would plague him the next two seasons, and Bengals cut bait.
