Raiders Hire Dennis Allen as New Head Coach

The Oakland Raiders have hired Denver Broncos Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen as their next head coach. This means the only vacant head-coaching job available is in Indianapolis and Tampa Bay, and Colts owner Jim Irsay has said he believes they will hire a head coach by the end of the week.

The Buccaneers are planning to schedule a second interview with Zimmer, but are believed to be favoring a more offensive-minded coach. This means that the Bengals could know by the end of the week if they will have Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer back for next season, as he has interviewed for nearly every vacant head-coaching job. The team needs to know quickly if Zimmer will be back, as secondary coach Kevin Coyle would be a prime candidate to replace him as the new defensive coordinator. However, Coyle is scheduled to meet with Miami Dolphins on Wednesday to interview for their defensive coordinator job.
