NFL Insider and draft guru Mel Kiper has released his list of his top 20 rookies of 2011. Its also essentially what a re-draft would look like in his eyes if the 2011 NFL Draft happened again. He based his rankings on overall production, presence as a key to winning, and positional value. The Bengals had two player who fit all three values very well.
Three of the top four players were ranked in the same spot they were drafted, including A.J. Green, ho came in at #4. One of the biggest jumps in the rankings was QB Andy Dalton, who was ranked#5, 30 spots higher than which he was drafted. So according to his rankings, the Bengals got two of the best players in the draft with their first two draft picks. That’s getting it done in the draft, and with another successful draft, the Bengals could reach a point where they annually challenge for the AFC North, whom the winner of has reached the AFC Championship three of the past four seasons.
