According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, free agent cornerback Stanford Routt is scheduled to visit the Cincinnati Bengals this Friday. Routt was released last Thursday just one year into a $54.5 million, five-year contract, which ended his seven-year tenure in Oakland as the team heads in a new direction. Routt got the big contract after grading out as one of the league’s top cover cornerbacks in 2010. Opposing QB’s had only a 39.4 percent completion rate when throwing at him. That was the lowest of any player targeted at least 60 times in 2010, according to STATS LLC. In 2011, Routt had four interceptions but played inconsistently and led the NFL in penalties with 17 and had nine TDs thrown against him.
