The Bengals announced today that they’ve signed free agent RB Aaron Brown. Brown is a third-year player who was drafted in the sixth-round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. He’s played in 22 games with two starts for the Lions from 2009-11 and had 44 rushes for 189 yards (4.3 avg.), 18 receptions for 129 yards (7.2), and averaged 22.3 yards on 15 kickoff returns. This may be another sign that the team is moving on from former starter Cedric Benson, though Brown is only expected to compete for a backup role.
