Mike Brown wants to talk to Marvin Lewis about Contract Extension

According to Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson, Bengals owner Mike Brown has approached Head Coach Marvin Lewis multiple times about signing the winningest coach in Bengals history to a contact extension. Marvin is currently at the NFL Scouting combine, and acknowledged this, while also saying he hasn’t had the time to sit down and hammer out a new contract:

We haven’t had the time and opportunity to do it. Hopefully we’ll get it resolved.


Lewis cited vacations and other commitments as the reason they haven’t gotten to it yet. He did say he hopes to remain in Cincinnati for the rest of his coaching career:

I’m not going to coach until I’m 80 years old, so I wouldn’t mind that at all. I enjoy what I do. I like where we live. I enjoy the people I work with day in and day out and I think we’re moving in the right direction. I think there’s a great commitment to winning and I appreciate that.
