Were Bengals Right to Tag Nugent? You Better Believe It!

There may not have been a more important free agent for the Bengals to re-sign then kicker Mike Nugent. To avoid letting the Nuge slip away in free agency, the team did the smart thing by applying the franchise tag, which all but guarantees he’ll be in Bengals stripes when the 2012 season opens. But was Mike Brown smart to slap the $2.6 million franchise tag on a kicker? If you look closely at what Nugent has done for the Bengals, its a no-brainer (which is good because I’m not sure Mike Brown has one at times)
