Adam Schein of Fox Sports says his sources have told him the Cardinals want to sign Payton Manning and “eradicate Kevin Kolb from the roster”.
NFL agent Eric Metz, who represents Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt, said on a radio interview yesterday that he believes the Cardinal are the favorites to sign the future hall-of-fame QB. This all comes after yesterday’s twitter headliner of Darnell Dockett tweeting Peyton was coming to Arizona. While most of the talk has been about Manning signing with either Miami or Washington, its now safe to say the Cardinal have emerged as a legitimate contender for his services.
Chris Mortenson is reporting that 12 NFL teams have spoke with Manning’s reps since the QB was released yesterday. The known teams include Arizona, Denver, Miami, Washington, Seattle, Kansas City, Tennessee, and the New York Jets. There are several unknown teams showing interest. I believe these teams likely include Buffalo, San Francisco, Oakland, and Cleveland.
