After getting a chance to test the free agent market, it appears Bengals LB Manny Lawson will re-sign with the team, according to Scout.com. Last season, Lawson notched 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks in mostly a pass-rushing role. By re-signing Lawson, this increases the likelihood the team will keep its LB corp the same as last year, with Lawson and Howard manning the OLB spots, while Maualuga manning the MLB spot. Lawson started 15 of 16 games last season at the OLB spot, but his 1.5 sacks were the fewest in a full season he played in. After a year in Mike Zimmer’s defensive scheme, his role should increase next year.
