The Bengals have agreed to terms with former Cowboys CB Terence Newman on a one-year contract. Newman was cut by Dallas after their season ended, due mainly to the fact that he will be 34 when the 2012 season begins. In his nine years with Dallas, he’s started 131 games and recorded 32 interceptions and 112 passes defensed. The Cowboys drafted Newman with the fifth overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft, and he’s been a rock-solid starter for them ever since.
The team also re-signed OT Dennis Roland, whose been a solid backup tackle since 2009 for the Bengals, starting 24 games since then. He’ll primarily backup RT Andre Smith, while also coming in as a 6th lineman in certain formations.
