North Carolina DE Quentin Coples was also viewed as a top-10 pick for quite some time, but now may be falling to the second-half of the 1st-round. According to the Boston Globe, “league sources” have suggested that Coples may even be available for the Bengals to select at pick #17.
If Coples is indeed sitting on the board for the Bengals to draft, it would be interesting to see weather Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis would pull the trigger. Robert Geathers can’t provide a consistent pass-rush, and both he and Michael Johnson will be free agents next year. The Bengals have good depth at DE, but no one other that Carlos Dunlap excels enough to give the Bengals a consistent pass-rush.
