My Thoughts on Clemson DT Brandon Thompson

While the AFC North is as physical a division as there is with quality defensive tackles coming at a premium, I thought this was a questionable pick at best. Thompson may have the ability of a first rounder, but not the size. He did put up 35 reps on the bench press at the combine, ranking him with the best.

He is a weight room warrior that performed better last year than he did this year. As a Clemson Tiger fan, I can tell you that he is a talented player that has a lot of potential but think he can be lost on the Bengals defense. Mike Zimmer is one of the best when it comes to defense, but with the numerous amount of d-linemen the Bengals currently have he may find trouble getting on the field.

Thompson is an above average run stopper and has room for improvement when it comes to pass rushing. The Bengals rolled the dice and gambled on Thompson. They knew he has a greater of being a reward rather than becoming a risk.
