Geoff Hobson reported last night that if the Bengals had stood pat at the #21 pick in the NFL Draft, the team would have still selected Wisconsin guard Kevin Zeitler over Stanford guard David DeCastro. Fortunately the team was able to trade down and acquire an extra third-round pick which they used to draft Clemson DT Brandon Thompson, who was projected by many analysts as a second-round pick.

Free agent QB Vince Young reportedly “looked good” at Bills tryout, though there is no deal in place yet.

Saints QB Drew Brees and the team are no closer on a new contract.

Giants G.M. Jerry Reese is being regarded as the best drafter in the league.
