The guys at Football Outsiders have finished compiling their 2012 NFL Draft Report Card Report. They did this by compiling all of the grades from nine expert NFL writers and draft analysts, and the Bengals were graded as the highest graded team:
1. Cincinnati Bengals
Highest Grade: A+ (Prisco, Iyer, Burke, Davis (3))
Lowest Grade: A- (Kiper)
Comments: Not one analyst had the Bengals lower than an A-, even the ever-fickle Jason Cole. Prisco loves all ten picks, saying the Sanu was the most questionable because he’s not a burner. Burke sees the possibility for the first nine picks to be starters. May the Bungals forever be gone!
While NFL games aren’t played on paper, and it may take 2-3 years to know if this draft was as successful as everyone claims it was, this will likely go down as the “highest praised” draft of the Mike Brown era. From beginning to end, the Bengals made solid picks and picked up players who were projected to go much earlier, getting the most value out of nearly every pick they made.
