Sports Headlines: Kevin Durant leads OKC Thunder past Spurs, into NBA Finals


The Oklahoma City Thunder were looking for the franchises’ first NBA Finals appearance in only the fourth year of existence in Oklahoma City and previously moving from Seattle. After trailing by as many as 18 to the Spurs, Kevin Durant caught fire, scoring 34 points and pulling down 14 rebounds to lead the Thunder to a 107-99 victory to propel them into the NBA Finals.


Joe Banner is out as the Eagles president and will now be an adviser to owner Jeffrey Lurie. Banner has been a member of the Eagles’ front office since 1994, and will now become a strategic adviser to the owner. He will be replaced by Don Smolenski as team president.
