The Home Stretch
Starting with Miami in Week 5 until Kansas City in Week 11, the Bengals never have to leave the state of Ohio. Other than Cleveland in Week 6, all the Bengals opponents during that time will be playing in Paul Brown Stadium; six weeks in all. If the Bengals can take advantage of this soft opening schedule, then PBS should be out of control for Pittsburgh in Week 7 as they go into the Bye.
The Bengals come back after a week’s repose to hit Peyton Manning and the Broncos in their own house after five weeks, more or less, sleeping in their own bed. The run ends as they host the Super Bowl Champs, New York Giants, again right there in the Queen City. Certainly the heat gets turned up after the Bye Week, but by staying at home from early October until late November gives this young team the best possible setting to maximize practice time as they lean into their final high caliber opponents.
