At this time of year it’s perfectly normal for far more teams to think they will make the post season than will actually do so. New coaches and draft picks still have that fresh new coat of potential smell, and fans only see the glossing veneer. Why not; entering into training camp with a pre-developed defeatist mentality is counter-productive and reserved for only a lowly few teams – we should know. Certainly, however, this year fans of the Cincinnati Bengals do not fall into this category.
Nor should they. Coming off a stellar season, free agency period and NFL Draft, the Bengals have made significant strides to put themselves back in the conversation as a legitimate NFL threat. However, this team is not without its share of uncertainties, the extent of which cannot truly be known until that first regular season game. A quick look at five concerns lying in wait in wait will help to keep reality a close friend.

The most nefarious man in Norwood is once again providing guerrilla editorials and insight on the Cincinnati Bengals just as he has for the past decade. An occasional realist and free-lance cynic, he looks forward to the pre-season, despises fantasy footballers and keeps a can of Monster Energy on hand to handle most situations. Question the reactionary, react to the revolutionary.... viva la gutter.
