Below are my top 10 fantasy football tight ends for the 2012 season. I am basing all statistics on standard fantasy football scoring (1 point for 10 receiving yards, 6 points for a receiving TD). Each player will receive a rank, a brief explanation, and a 2012 scoring prediction.

10. Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons

Gonzalez is the ageless one among tight ends in the NFL. He consistently provides solid fantasy numbers all season long. He has a great quarterback in Matt Ryan, and flourishes in Atlanta’s offensive scheme. Expect more of the same from this veteran tight end this coming season.

2012 Projection: 798 receiving yards, 7 receiving TD’s – 121 points

9. Brent Celek, Philadelphia Eagles

Celek is on one of the most explosive offenses in the league. He had a great season three years ago. Two years ago he seemed to be almost forgotten in the Philadelphia offense. Last season Michael Vick remembered he had a great weapon at tight end and Celek ended up with another good season. I expect that to continue this year.

2012 Projection: 837 receiving yards, 7 receiving TD’s – 125 points
