Bengals safety David Fuclher #33

I started watching football when I was 7 or 8 years old, with my dad, in the mid-1980′s, and I really had no clue what was going on. The first season of football that I can really remember understanding was the 1988 season. My dad and I watched his favorite team, and therefore my favorite, the Cincinnati Bengals make their way into the playoffs and into Super Bowl XXIII. There they met the San Francisco 49ers, led of course by Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. I still didn’t quite get all the nuances of the game, or know a lot about the players, but my heart was broken nonetheless when Montana connected with John Taylor for the game winning touchdown. I would point to that game as the day my real love for football was born.

    @vancemeek Did you know he owns a chain of Cardboard Heroes stores? I met him in a mall outside of Cincy. He let me hold his AFC Champ ring.

    @wes2000_ That’s really cool. I didn’t know that. He’s a really nice guy.

    @vancemeek Very nice. I’m trying to remember the mall. He said he visits that store often.
