It is apparent from his comments that the teams that have contacted McNabb have young quarterbacks. Assuming that the Vikings are not going to bring him back, that leaves a handful of possible options.
First, I believe that we should look at the teams who drafted a QB in the first round in this years NFL Draft.
- Indianapolis Colts
- Miami Dolphins
- Cleveland Browns
Once again assuming that he is done with any previous team that he has played for, that gives us two options; Indianapolis and Miami.
I think he would fit in all three camps. McNabb would be a good role model for Andrew Luck, Ryan Tannehill and whoever is the starter for Cleveland next season . They would learn a lot from having him as a mentor of sorts. Tannehill will likely not be starting, as David Garrand appears to be the front runner this year for the job. The added competition that McNabb would bring would be good for the Dolphins in my opinion (as they may be in trouble at QB by the look of things).
Then we need to take a look at which teams have a young QB.
- Carolina Panthers
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Jacksonville Jaguars
Would you accept it if the Bengals decided to sign McNabb as a second or third string quarterback?
Personally, I don’t see it as a good fit at all, and likely not to happen. But I would not be upset if they decided to add a little extra depth at quarterback. But who would fit best?
