Week in Review: And so it Nears

July 26th.

Could that day not come soon enough? The day when the sun rises bright and early, but not before the howling sounds of bull horns blowing, signaling an early wakeup to rise and grind on the first official day of NFL training camp.

Yes, this is the official start of the NFL season. Not the first preseason game. Not even the opening weekend when the team travels into enemy territory in front of a hostile Baltimore crowd to battle the Ravens on the grand stage that is Monday Night Football with guys named Jaws, Chucky, and Tirico calling the action.

No, the NFL season begins with the first day of training camp. This is where boys become men. Where teammates become brothers. When a nobody become a somebody.

This is where teams are built, players are made, and championships are won. Every ounce of sweat, every shed of blood, every bump, bruise, and cramp now could help get you one step closer to your ultimate goal and lifelong dream.

The Lombardi Trophy.

That is the dream of anyone who’s ever worked hard enough to make it into the highest level of football there is. But first you must make the roster.

For some, its a matter of showing up and going through the motions. For others, every rep is godsend that has to be fought for as if it were your last. This is where even the 90th man on the roster still has hopes of making the opening day roster. But alas, only 53 men will have that honor. And what an honor it is. From the first man, all the way to the 53rd man to make it. All the hard work, sacrifices, weights lifted, films watched, bones broken, ligaments torn. The highs, the lows, good times, bad times, and everything in between.

All of it has led to you getting to play in the NFL and compete for the Super Bowl ring your finger yearns to hold.

All of that starts Day 1 of NFL training camp. This is where it all begins.
