The Cincinnati Reds came into the 2012 season with high expectations and dreams of a trip to the World Series, and after a slow start, they’re beginning to show glimpses of the team they hoped to be. Last night, Scott Rolen delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to lead the Reds to a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, giving them he weekend sweep while taking over first-place in the division after the Pittsburgh Pirates lost. Pitching for the third straight day, Aroldis Chapman struck out all three batters he faced to earn a save against the Cardinals on Sunday, and has now pitched seven straight scoreless innings, and appears to have thrust himself into the elite class of closers in the game.
Broncos RE Elvis Dumervil was arrested in Miami on Saturday night and has been charged with third-degree felony aggravated assault with a firearm. Even if he is able to avoid jail time, the fact that this is his second incident since he came to the NFL could mean Roger Goodell will hand down a suspension.
