The Cleveland Browns announced today that rookie RB Trent Richardson will be ready for Week 1. Richardson previously underwent a knee scope that has sidelined him for much of training camp, and he’ll likely be eased into the offense as he shares carries with fellow SEC back Montario Hardesty. Richardson was the third-overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, and was regarded as the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson came to the league.

John Harbaugh believes Ravens WR Torrey Smith is on the way to becoming a complete receiver.

Browns DE Marcus Benard suffered a major elbow injury in Friday’s preseason loss to the Eagles.

Steelers OT Max Starks and RB Isaac Redman are feeling good after returning to full practice this week and expect to play tonight when the Steelers play at Buffalo.

It appears likely now that Ravens QB Joe Flacco will play out the final year of his rookie deal. Flacco and the Ravens have been negotiating a long-term deal, but have been unable to hammer anything out, and the franchise tag may be in play for Flacco this offseason.
