The only drawback to Faine seems to be durability. At 31 years of age with 9 seasons in the NFL under his belt, Faine has only played full 16-game seasons twice. While the terms of his contract have not been released, it’s likely that the Bengals inched closer towards their salary cap on what is a very injury prone gamble. Nonetheless, it’s a roll of the dice that had to be taken, and with all the other intangibles that a sound-minded Faine brings to the team, the upside of character-driven mentorship to Zeitler and Boling could be limitless.
