Morning Headlines: Roger Goodell will meet with Suspended Bountygate Players

The long-awaited meeting between Roger Goodell and the suspended Bountygate players will take place next week in New York. Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, Saints defensive end Will Smith, Browns linebacker Scott Fujita, and free-agent defensive end Anthony Hargrove will meet with Goodell to discuss the Bountygate allegations, and hopefully get this finally resolved so the NFL can move one from this ugly scandal.

Chargers CB Quentin Jammer broke his hand in Monday’s win over the Raiders, and his status for Sunday’s game against the Titans is unknown. The team is also uncertain if RB Ryan Mathews  will play versus the Titans in Week 2 as he recovers from his fractured clavicle.

The Raiders are hoping WR Denarius Moore (hamstring) will be active for Week 2.

Bears MLB Brian Urlacher will start on Thursday in their divisional showdown with the Green Bay Packers.

Saints bounty case underscores possible need for coaches union.

RB C.J. Spiller will be the Bills’ offensive focal point with Fred Jackson out of the lineup for a month with a knee injury.

The Saints have re-signed WR Greg Camarillo.
