NFL Headlines: Replacement Ref Blunders, & Darrelle Revis Suffers one of many Serious Injuries

Sports Illustrated’s Peter King reported yesterday that the NFL and its’ locked-out referees spent most of Sunday meeting in New York with a federal mediator, but talks broke off without a deal as there are still significant differences on multiple issues. One of the more egregious replacement ref blunders came in the 49ers vs. Vikings game in which Jim Harbaugh conned the replacement refs out of two extra challenges.

Jets CB Darrelle Revis suffered a significant knee injury against the Dolphins on Sunday, and it now appears it may have in fact been a torn ACL.

Bills RB C.J. Spiller is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left shoulder today after injuring it during Sunday’s win over the now 0-3 Browns. His collarbone is intact and doctors do not believe he will be sidelined much beyond next week, as its believed he merely sprained a shoulder joint.

Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey was carted off the field Sunday after a blow to the head from Steelers safety Ryan Mundy, though its been reported he is in stable condition at an Oakland hospital.

Buccaneers DE Adrian Clayborn’s right knee injury is likely season ending.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford will undergo a right leg MRI today after he felt his hamstring pull late in the 4th-quarter of the teams’ overtime loss to the Titans.

Texans QB Matt Schaub had his shoulder X-rayed following Sunday’s win over Denver, but later said everything was fine.
