The Bengals were hit hard with the injury bug on Wednesday, as 4 starters did not practice, and another 3 starters practiced in only a limited capacity. Hopefully this is Marvin Lewis giving some of his players a rest day before the team gets in two more quality practices before departing for Jacksonville.
The Bengals depleted secondary didn’t get any good news today as starting cornerbacks Leon Hall(hamstring) and Nate Clements(calf) weren’t even on the practice field today. Hall’s injury has now been classified as a hamstring injury. It had been previously diagnosed as a calf injury that caused him to miss Sunday’s win over the Redskins. Hamstrings are a very tricky injury to deal with, as the Bengals learned last year when Carlos Dunlap with a similar injury, and was essentially week-to-week as it became a game-time call the rest of the season whether he played or not, and even when he did play, it was obvious he wasn’t the same player. Hopefully Hall’s injury isn’t the same severity.
Here’s the rest of the report:
As for the Jaguars injury report, starting LB Daryl Smith will miss this week with a groin injury that he suffered last week against the Colts.
Starting WR Laurent Robinson is dealing with a concussion and may not suit up this week after not practicing today.
Backup DE George Selvie missed today’s practice with a knee injury.
